Ann Visser

Ann Visser was called home to her heavenly father on Monday July 27th, passing peacefully at Lisaard House Hospice in Cambridge, ON.

Ann, named Antje Aafke Hellinga, was born in Groningen, Netherlands on November 16, 1930. In 1953, at age 22, she immigrated with her family to Canada where she would later meet her soulmate, Sietse Visser through their church community. They married July 13th, 1957 in Toronto, ON and were blessed with four children; Sidney, Margaret, Robert, and Betty-Ann.

Ann’s deep faith and love of the Lord were the fundamental building blocks of her life; this was evident in everything that she did. She was dedicated to the service of others, living according to Hebrews 6:10 - “God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them”. She was active in the Lady’s Society, Grace Church, and the Christian school her children attended; often supporting behind the scenes.

Ann was also dedicated to supporting her family and friends, delighting in seeing them thrive. She sought to lighten their burdens wherever she could; opening up her home, offering words of wisdom, or stepping in as a mother figure for those who needed one. Her strength and compassion were a blessing and a source of comfort to all who loved her.

Ann leaves behind:
