It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Ann Guglietti (Pellegrini), at the age of 94, predeceased by her loving husband Vincent. Ann leaves behind her beloved children John (Lisa) and Anthony (Lorella), her daughter-in-law Mary (Paul predeceased), and her cherished grandchildren Patrick (Catherine), David, Sandra, Susan (Tito), Gianluca (Michelle), Sebastian, her sister Annette (Pat), nieces Paula (Gord), Janice (Dave).
Ann lived a blessed life filled with love for her family and dear friends. She was born in Sora, Italy and emigrated to Toronto with her mother Emilia via New York, in 1937 to start a new life in Canada with her father Pasquale. Although she never forgot her Italian roots, nothing made her prouder than to be a Canadian.
Ann had interesting stories about growing up in Toronto during the thirties and forties. She liked to reminisce about starting elementary school with limited English and then eventually graduating from Shaw Business College. Ann had quite a few pastimes throughout her life. She was part of a bowling league, played euchre, knitted, gardened, did crossword/sudoku puzzles, and had a fondness for cooking and baking. She had the opportunity to travel and enjoyed her experiences in Italy, Cuba, Mexico, Barbados, Myrtle Beach, Grand Canyon and Las Vegas.
Ann’s passion in life was her family. She felt fortunate that not only was she able to raise a family of her own but she got the chance to be a large part of her beloved grandchildren’s lives. She helped care for them and took much pleasure in watching them grow up. She always had time for conversation with them and liked to recall fun times together. The enjoyment she felt in being so close to them filled her heart with love. She will never be forgotten by those of us who were touched by her loving spirit.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ann’s memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
