Ancella Rebecca Ellis

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Ancella Rebecca Ellis, on October 7, 2025, at the age of 85 years old, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada,

Ancella was born on August 20, 1940, to Mother: Caroline McFarlane and Father: Beresford Campbell, in Roehampton District, St. James Jamaica. As a young mother at the age of 28 years young, she made the sacrifice to migrate to Canada in search of employment opportunities for the betterment of her family.

While pursuing employment opportunity, living in Toronto Canada, Ancella maintained close motherly relationship with her three young children her mother and other family members. While navigating the life as an immigrant in Canada in the seventies, Ancella met and married her husband, Vincent Ellis and in 1976, migrated her three children to Canada to further establish her family.

Ancella is survived by her three children Marylin Norma Crichton, Joel Peterkin, Devon Peterkin, her husband Vincent Ellis. Eight grandchildren, Georgette Crichton , Christina Gustave, Jahvon Peterkin, Mackel Peterkin, Tiona Peterkin, Malachi Peterkin, Jahmeer Peterkin, Rukiya Peterkin.

Ancella is also survived by her brother Silvan Robinson.

Viewing will be held October 31, 2025, at 4:00 PM at Ward Funeral Home on Weston Road. The memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at House of Praise Tabernacle, 800 Arrow Rd; North York, Ontario.

Her strength and love shaped us, and she will be dearly missed.
