It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the peaceful passing of our beloved Amerigo Magni on Saturday October 31, 2026 at the remarkable age of 99. Surrounded by the love of his family and embraced in prayer, Amerigo was peacefully welcomed into God's eternal Kingdom.
Amerigo was born on March 10th, 1927 in Ceprano, in the province of Frosinone, Italy. After 69 cherished years of marriage, Amerigo is now reunited with his loving wife, Raffaella whom he adored and missed dearly. They built a beautiful life together and filled their home with love, laughter and above all, faith.
Devoted father to his three children: the late Lionello (Helen), Marco (Lucy), and Bernadette (Paul). He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Sabrina (Oscar), Diane (Jeff), Laura (Ryan), Natasha (Nino), Gloria (Mario), Melissa (Michael), Angelica (Matthew), and Nathaniel. He was a proud Bisnonno to Joshua (Kayla), Juliana (Luke), Emma, Kayla, James, Lucas, Matteo, Maya, Emily, Ava, Mila, Thomas, Gabriel, and Gemma, each of whom held a special place in his heart. Amerigo was also blessed to be a great-great-grandfather, a cherished Trisnonno, to Leo and Luca, representing five generations of a family built upon his strong foundation of love. Amerigo is reunited in Heaven with his loving parents, Rocco Antonio and Filomena, his brothers Umberto, Nicola (Anna) and his sister Annetta (Pesurro). He is also fondly remembered by his sister-in-law, Antonietta, beloved wife of the late Umberto.
Throughout his extraordinary life, Amerigo called Italy, Brazil, and Canada home, embracing each chapter with courage, hard work and resilience while remaining grounded in his values. Guided by a profound devotion to Christ, he faithfully attended mass and prayed the Rosary daily. He lived his beliefs through his selfless service to local religious communities and many charitable causes.
Amerigo leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories and an enduring legacy of love, faith, and unwavering commitment to his family. Though he will be deeply missed, the values he instilled and the love he shared will live on through the generations he leaves behind.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Amerigo's memory to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada.
