Amelia Fantin

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Amelia Fantin (Martini), who departed peacefully surrounded by her loving family.

 Amelia was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother whose strength, and steadfast love will be deeply missed. Amelia was the beloved wife of 69 years to Anthony (Tony) Fantin. She was a devoted mother to Daniel Fantin, David Fantin, Elaine Ricciardi (Fantin) and James Fantin (Madison). 

Amelia was a proud and caring nonna to Ryan Fantin, Jennifer Fantin, Amanda Fantin (Oscar), and Marlow Fantin all of whom brought her immense joy and pride. Amelia was also a loving sister to the late Peter Martini (Teresa), Rita Artuso (Martini), and sister-in-law to late E. Victor Artuso, late Bruno Fantin, late (Dina), late Mirella Durigon (Fantin).Amelia will be remembered for her many passions and the simple pleasures that brought her happiness.

She loved fashion and design and was an amazing seamstress. Amelia and her sister Rita made dresses and outfits for the kids over many years. Amelia took pride in always having her children looking clean, neat and coordinated “from tip to toe” as she would say! She loved to shop and decorate and coordinate everything. She was also very passionate about cooking and baking, hosting epic dinner parties, and spoiling family and friends with all their favorite foods. 

Friends would hang around the Fantin house because she always had something cooking or baking. Parties with friends at the house were always served with deep dish pizza’s that only Amelia could make.Above all, Amelia will be remembered for her love and devotion of family, her generous spirit, and the strength and care she brought to those around her.

She touched the lives of many through her loyalty and unwavering devotion to the people she loved. A devoted Catholic, she never missed Sunday mass and always said prayers for her family, attended Church bazaars and donated to the less fortunate.Amelia’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Though she has left this world, her legacy of love, resilience, and treasured memories will remain with family and friends always. 

If there is organizing and decorating to be done in heaven, hang on because Amelia will take it on. Special thanks to Parkland on Eglinton where Amelia and Tony reside since 2020. The level of love and care from the Staff at Parkland is exemplary and appreciated more than you know. The Staff at Parkland are extended family and always cared deeply for Amelia right to the very end.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Amelia’s memory may be made to Alzheimer's Society whose care and compassion make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
