Almel "Merlyn" Miller

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Almel Miller on Tuesday September 19, 2023, at the age of eighty-three. She died peacefully in her sleep at Humber River Hospital following a lengthy battle with multiple illnesses.

Almel also known as Merlyn to family and friends, was born Sept 5, 1940, in Guyana, South America to Vyrauen and Paroo Madramootoo (also know as George and Julie Mootoo) The 2nd of 7 children.

Almel was the mother of five children and grandmother to 13 grandkids .She was the matriarch of our family and a mother figure to many. She wore the title of Mother with Grace , Class, and dignity!

Almel is pre-deceased by her parents George and Julie Mootoo, her son Martel, and her siblings, Normaleen, Burnet, and Elaine.

Almel will lovingly be remembered by her surviving children Gerard, Arlind, Michelle, Nigel, and her grandchildren: Joshua, Brittany, D’Shawn, Jessica, Malcolm, Brandon, Marcus, Anthony, NIA, Bianca Ethan, Anisa, and Jada.

She will also be remembered with love by her daughters-in-Law, Michelle, Zoila, and Lisa.

Almel will be greatly missed and forever remembered by her brothers, Leon, Leo, Leman, and her many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Extended Family and Friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Emmanuel Church of the Nazarene, 1875 Sheppard Ave. West Downsview Ontario on Tuesday, October 3rd at 11AM.
