1921- 2012
Peacefully passed away, after a long and productive life, on February 23, 2012 at Sunnybrook Veterans Wing, Toronto. Predeceased by loving wife Margaret. Alex was devoted to family, cherished father of Phyllis (Doug), Barbara (Ken), Doug (Pam), and Jim (Barbara). Loving Grandfather to Erin, Drew, Robert, Scott (Emily), Mark (Jenny), Andrew (Meggie), Lindsey, Andy, Michael (Dominique), Julie (Jeremy), Alex (Judy) and Kristal. Great Grandfather to Taylor, Will, Madison, Katie, Lola and Hayden. Dear brother of Ida Moodie, predeceased by brothers Frank and Sid. WWII Veteran with the RCAF, serving as a Flying Officer in Coastal Command (Malta and Ireland). Accomplished Pilot and Builder. Special thanks to Della Arthur and the staff of Retire-At-Home as well as the caring staff of K1C at Sunnybrook.
Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 2035 Weston Road (North of Lawrence Ave. W.) Weston on Monday from 7-9 and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9p.m.
A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 1p.m.
