Passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Downsview Long Term Care on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, at the age of 84. Loving husband of Mae and step-father of Michael (Glenda) Chetty and Paul (Heidi) Chetty. Dear grandfather of Melissa, Justin, Ansel, Adie and Moira.
Alec moved to Canada in 1975 from the Western Cape, South Africa. He worked at Stanfield’s and lived in the Toronto neighbourhood of Weston, where he later doted over his grandchildren, became a noted movie aficionado, and enjoyed an occasional trip out to a restaurant.
He will be missed dearly. At the family’s request, funeral services will be private. If desired, donations to the Sick Kids Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
