Agatha Gibbs Sunrise: March 1935, Sunset May 7th, 2026. Passed away peacefully at Etobicoke General Hospital.
Beloved wife of the late Victor Gibbs. Dear mother to Linette Cecilia Nibbs (Colin), Thaddeus (Aklema) and Francis Gibbs. Grandmother to Colette and Stefphon Nibbs, Jonathan, Benjamin, Jaxson and Brayden Gibbs. Sisters Matilda Andrew and Rita Johnson. Caregiver Roxanne Alleyne.
Agatha was raised in a close-knit family rooted in faith. She shared a bond with her older sister Matilda that would prove to be one of the great love of her life. Mom was a faithful, kind, and peaceful human being.
She was born in Grenada where she had her formal education and worked at the mental hospital before migrating to Canada in 1970. After her arrival to Canada, she worked as a Healthcare aid at Riverdale hospital until retirement before returning to Grenada in 2000.
She spent the next 25 years living with her husband and then her dear sister Matilda, until returning to Canada where she spent her last year surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren.
Mom was a humble, hardworking, and thoughtful person. She devoted decades of her life caring for others with a steady hand and her gentle presence. She took pride in whatever task she was doing and did it with all her heart.
Her many hobbies that brought her joy such as sewing, crafts, travelling, volunteering, shopping and baking her famous buns, bread and coconut tarts.
Her Catholic faith was the cornerstone of her life. The rosary was a daily comfort. Her relationship with God practiced and profound also in the way she treated everyone making sure everything around her was alright.
In her final years she remained surrounded by the people she cherished most. Her close family, friends, and colleagues.
She will be dearly missed. But the love, joy and comfort she brought to everyone will be deeply cherished and remembered.
May her soul rest in Perfect peace.
