We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Zina Longo, on January 24, 2023. Following a courageous battle with cancer, she passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at home. She was in her 83rd year. She is now reunited with the love of her life, Tommy Longo.

Survived by her four loving children Anthony (Gay), Joey (Donna), Rosie (Bryan Yeatman) and Marie (Danny Iuglio). Zina was proud Nonna to Thomas (Heather), Jesse, Nicholas (Katherine), Lucas (Stefania), Mitchell (Lisa), Dayna (Krystian), Sabrina (Justen), Jacilyn (Julius), Justin (Victoria), the late Nicolas, Daniel (Stephanie), Riana and Joey (Samantha). Proud bisnonna of Oliver, Hazel, Wesley, James, Samara, Lyla, Lauder, Letty, Max, Tomas and Matthew.

Cherished sister and sister-in-law of the late Antonina Fusco (the late Pietro), the late Sam Battaglia (the late Titi), Ignazia Caruso (the late Tony), Maria Speciale (the late Angelo), Tony Battaglia (Lucy,) and John Battaglia (Julie), the late Zina Indovina (the late Joseph), the late Joe Sr. (the late Teresa), Mary Battaglia (the late Joseph), the late Sal (Jill), and Gus (Mary Anne);

Aunt Zina will be missed by her numerous beloved nieces and nephews, treasured cousins and friends. Zina was born on February 18, 1940 in Termini Imerese, Sicily, Italy to Giuseppe and Maria Battaglia. She married Tommy on October 12, 1959, they were married 52 years before his passing.

Zina loved her family more than anything and was incredibly proud of all her children and grandchildren. They will forever miss her laughter, loving presence and unwavering strength. Zina's grandchildren loved making her laugh, which she matched with her subtle wit and clever sense of humor. She demonstrated the importance of family every day and instilled these values in her children and grandchildren. Zina devoted her life to her family and never complained as she lived each day with a passion to love and support them. Zina loved cooking and baking traditional Italian foods and loved spending time with her family to teach them these recipes. They will miss her food, her cookies, her patience and wisdom in the kitchen and especially her company while enjoying these foods.

Zina had a generous heart and selflessly supported her community to better the lives of others.

Zina lived a happy life, constantly surrounded by family and friends who loved and adored her. Her strong faith, selflessness and passion for family made her a role model to those around her. Her memory will forever be cherished by her family.

The family would like to thank Dr. Jordan Feld (Senior Scientist, Toronto General Hospital Research Institute) for his compassion, patience, and tireless effort and dedication to find a cure for liver disease. Dr. Eric Chen and the rest of the team at Princess Margaret Hospital. Angie and Racquel for all the care and compassion they have given Zina. Dr. Charbonneau for her years of care and guidance. And they would also like to thank the palliative care team, including Dr. Longarini and Adelia for all of their kindness and support
