Rosalina Almeida

Rosalina Almeida, passed away at home in Brampton on Sunday February 21st 2021 surrounded by family members in her 87th year.

Rosalina was born on September 13th 1933 in Fenais da Luz in Sao Miguel, Portugal. She married Jose Almeida in 1958. They went on to have two sons, John and Joseph, and settled in Canada in the 80’s where they raised their sons. Rosalina was a homemaker who kept an immaculate home. She enjoyed taking her children to the local bakery every Sunday when they were young. Rosalina did not have much of a sweet tooth, but would rarely pass up the opportunity to enjoy a traditional Portuguese custard (Queijada De Nata) during family gatherings. After her husband passed away, she went to live with her sister and brother in law, Alda and Jose Da Silva in their loving home, where she lived until she was reunited with her beloved husband in heaven.

Rosalina was a woman of God who loved children and had a wonderful sense of humour.

She is survived by her children, John (Rosa) and Joseph (Paula) and grandchildren Matthew, Marlene, Sarah, and her niece and nephews who adored and cared for her.

Family and friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home on Thursday, February 25 from 3-5 and 6-9 pm.

The Funeral Mass will take place at St. Peter's Church, 100 Bainbridge Ave., Woodbridge on Friday, February 26, 2021 at 9:30 am. You may RSVP to attend the mass at the link under service details.

In accordance with the February 22, 2021 directives from the Municipality of York Region, Services can be held within the funeral home, accommodating no more individuals than 30% occupancy of our visitation rooms and/or Chapel.

Funeral services being held in a church or place of worship allow for a maximum of 30% building occupancy.

Wearing of masks or face coverings by everyone is mandatory as per the Provincial Regulations.

Respecting the current situation and pandemic restrictions, the interment will be private.
