Maria was born on September 29th, 1941 in Aidone, Sicily, Italy. God called Maria peacefully on May 15th, 2021 at the age of 79. She passed peacefully in the hospital surrounded by her two daughters.
Maria was a friendly, loveable and caring woman who especially loved her family which was central to everything in her life. She will be greatly missed and always remembered by her children Filippina (Paul) and Vincenzina (Mike). She was very proud of her four grandchildren Michael, Robert, Julia and Ben and two great grandchildren Gia Audry and Paolo Luca. She will also be remembered by her surviving sister Concetta as well as her nieces and nephews. She will be missed by everyone she associated with.
Maria’s special interest was Italian music especially singers, Albano, Massimo Ranieri, Toto Cotugno and Umberto Tozzi.
The family would like thank the many doctors (specialists) that have provided care for her over the many years.
If so desired, in lieu of flowers, a donation to the Diabetes Association or Heart & Stroke foundation is preferred.
Visitation will take place at the Ward Funeral Home, 4671 Hwy #7, Woodbridge Ontario on Tuesday, May 18th, 2021 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Visitation is by appointment only and can be booked by clicking on the RSVP button under the visitation times.
Respecting the current situation and pandemic restrictions, a private funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, May 19th, 2021 at 10:30 AM. at Ward Funeral Home Chapel followed by private entombment at Glendale Cemetery.
