Maria Cavuoti

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Maria (Linardi) Cavuoti, of Vaughan, Ontario. Maria passed away at home on the evening of Sunday November 13th, 2022 in her 100th year.

Devoted wife of the late Francesco Antonio and mother to late Victor (Mary), Joe (Domenica), Lina (late Joe), Jimmy, late Vince, Mike, late Settimio, Tony and Ricky. Maria had a special place in her heart for Linda who was like a daughter to her.

Maria was cherished by her grandchildren, Karen, Lisa (Patrick), Mary-Ann (KC), Victor Jr, Elizabeth (late Giacomo, late Tony), Daniela (Ryan), Alexander and Gillian. Also loved by great grandchildren Justin, Kailey, Lauren, Tommy, Brynn, Drake, Nina, Vincenzo, Massimo and Samantha.

She was survived by her brother Antonio and predeceased by her siblings Vincenzo, Giulia, Assunta, Benito, Nicola and Domenico.

Maria was the eldest of the Linardi family, daughter to Giuseppe and Giuseppina. She accepted her role and responsibility as the eldest child and helped her parents with chores on the farm, around the house and caring for her siblings. In many ways she became a second mother to her younger siblings.

Maria married Francesco Antonio and had seven children in Italy before making the big move to Toronto, and an additional two children in Canada to complete her family. Maria was proud take on any job so that she could provide a comfortable life for her family.

Maria opened her door and her heart to anyone in need and never expected anything in return for her generosity. Her love ran deep with everyone that crossed her path.

Maria loved to share her infinite wisdom and many stories from her life with family and friends. She had a great passion for gardening, as well as cooking, canning, knitting, sewing, crocheting, and even singing.

Maria was never shy to say “I LOVE YOU”. Maria, you will forever be loved and always remembered. You will be sadly missed by your family and friends but will always be in our hearts.
