Francesco Palermo, age 90, passed away peacefully at Newmarket Health Centre - Long-Term Care Home on April 6, 2022. Francesco was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and valued family member.

He was born February 22, 1932 in Salemi, Italy to the late Crucifica and Stefano Palermo. In 1956 he married his beloved wife, Anna Palermo, who he is survived by. They moved to Canada shortly after.

Francesco lived a full life dedicated to his family and community. He was a hard worker with a career in construction as a bricklayer, an avid gardener, and devoted family man. His house was a gathering place, where he frequently hosted family holiday and birthday celebrations alongside Anna. Francesco loved trips to Wasaga Beach, watching soccer, and cycling.

In addition to his wife, Francesco is survived by his daughter Crocetta and her husband Frank, and his son, Stefano and his wife Bonnie. He was the proud nonno of 5 grandchildren and their spouses: Christopher (Tracy), Matthew, Daniela (Will), Melissa (Anna), and Joshua. He was a bisnonno to Adam, and had many loving nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2022 from 3:00pm - 7:00pm at Ward Funeral Home, “Woodbridge Chapel”, 4671 Highway 7, Vaughan, ON. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 11 at 11:00am at St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church, 8500 Islington Ave., Woodbridge ON. Entombment will follow at Westminster Cemetery, 5830, Bathurst St., North York, ON.
