Eugene passed away peacefully in the early hours of Saturday, November 19, 2016 at Etobicoke General Hospital. Beloved husband of Brenda (Manning) for 44 years. Gene will be deeply missed by his daughter Sherri-Anne, granddaughters Amber (Matt) and Ally and great-granddaughters Elizabeth and Addison. Remembered with great affection by brother Keith and sister-in-law Doreen, sister-in-law Anne and brother-in-law Bob Manning. “Uncle Gene” to the nieces and nephews of the Miller clan. Gene had an amazing life – teacher, football player and coach, world class jazz lover and expert, avid curler, lover of the Argos and the Blue Jays – amassing friends wherever he went. Founder of the Canadian Collectors Congress and founding member and Secretary Emeritus of the International Association of Jazz Record Collectors. Proud member of the Muddies and Spinners record collectors groups. Special thanks to the caring staff at EGH. Arrangements were handled by Ward Funeral Home.
