Duncan Lloyd Findlayter a son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle & friend passed away on July 8, 2022, in New York in his 75th year.

Duncan was born in Trelawny Jamaica on November 4, 1947, to Lemuel & Sybil Findlayter. Cherished husband of Rita Findlayter married 48 years. Beloved father of Floyd, Natasha, late Donovan, Robert, Dwayne, Marvin, Jason and Christopher. Adored grandfather of Kamarah, Shakhur, Jahnaye, Reshaun, Milah, Kaelyn, Kariya, Aniyah & Maya. Proud great grandfather of Jesiah. Dear brother of Viola, Late Lucinda, Rashbell, Amos & Wesley. He will be dearly missed by his extended family and friends.

By trade an Electrical Engineer he was known for being incredibly passionate about his work as a New York City transit employee for over 30 years. He excelled in the exacting nature this work required, he made friends and earned the respect of so many of his peers. When he wasn’t at work, he would spend hours reading and learning about politics, always eager to share what he had learned with those around him. Duncan loved 70’s music and had a collection of vinyl albums.

Even when ill, he could find the silver lining and kept pushing forward, always willing to help anyone in need. He represented the good that we all need every day in our lives.

Family and Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home (4671 Hwy 7, Woodbridge) on Friday, July 22, 2022, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Ward Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Beechwood Cemetery.
