Calogero Zito
March 4, 1976 – September 2, 2022

Calogero, his given name at birth, also went by the names Calo, Cali, Ca-low-gero, Carlo, Carlos, or Charlie. His most significant name and role, however, was Papa.

Calogero is survived by his parents, Vincenza and Salvatore Zito, his sisters Enza Maria Zito and Christina (Zito) De Vincentis and his daughter Lea Zito, son Andrea Zito and fur daughter Lucy (his pitbull).

As a child, Calogero was spirited, curiously inquisitive, mischievous, and energetic. As a charming and sociable young man, he would enter a room and infuse it with joy and laughter. Calogero possessed wit and intelligence and loved history. He was a great storyteller and a jokester at heart. His sarcastic humour was clever and poignant, and his laugh was genuinely unforgettable. Calogero was empathetic and compassionate and thus felt deeply, showing tremendous insight into people. Creative and artistic, Calogero designed unique pieces of work. He possessed a stylish flair, always wanted to look his best, and, in his younger days, would switch outfits 2 or 3 times before walking out the door (much to his mother's chagrin). He was a foodie who enjoyed wearing the chef's hat. With an eye for design, Calogero appreciated mid-century and modern furniture. Calogero could speak Italian and English fluently. He was passionate about the things he cared for, completely enamored, and wholly devoted to his family. He would do absolutely anything for those he loved.

Calogero was a unique and special soul. He blessed our lives with laughter and love. His spirit shone so brightly that it could not stay lit for long. Calogero left this world far too soon, but his memory lives on in our hearts, imprinted on our minds and souls for all eternity.

Calogero is truly unforgettable. This is our hardest goodbye.

Ci vediamo dopo, ti amiamo tanto Calo!

See you later!
